The most critical period of human development is in the first 8 years of life. During this time, the brain undergoes its most dramatic growth and development. Children acquire the ability to think, speak, learn and reason. For this to happen, they need to grow in a supportive environment. We carry out demonstration of what we expect of the fellow children to emulate or do so that they motivate parents / guardians and grow with the culture of love and care for clean environment and promotion of community development. Apart from improving children’s health and nutritional status, Early Childhood Development, gives the children a head start at subsequent education levels. The program also promotes their smooth and successful transition to primary school and other advanced levels of education. The project is designed to support mostly poor children especially who have either lost their parents to HIV/AIDS and whose parents are not able to provide for them. These kids need love, attention, life skills, and education so they can have successful futures free from poverty and filled with the same opportunities as others. Furaha works with volunteers assume the role a big brother or sister to kids in our school, The Volunteers mentors work alongside local staff to help with children education support, classroom computer teaching and childcare, and the daily operational running of the school.
